| While Latinos in the United States often are referred to as Brown, the ethnic group encompasses a spectrum of skin tones and races. And despite the diversity among Latinos, colorism, or discrimination against people with darker skin tones, runs rampant, according to a recent study from the Pew Research Center. As I read the report, I was struck by how thoroughly the authors captured the differences in treatment, even among families. I wanted to capture these nuances and speak with a diverse set of Latinos about their experiences. Also in this edition, how one suburb is fighting back against investment properties.
